Why Shadow?
Shadowing is essential if you want to pursue a healthcare career. Not only does this help you determine whether the profession is for you, but it is widely becoming a requirement for admission into training programs.
Additionally, a 2020 study of American MS3 students found that students who had previous employment in healthcare scored significantly better in their clinical scores. While shadowing is not employment, getting clinical experience nonetheless may give you an advantage during clerkships later in medical training.
